Lawmakers aren’t buying the spin on shaky lottery deal

Officials from Gov. Tom Corbett’s administration continued their sales pitch for privatizing the management of the Pennsylvania Lottery before a House committee.

Corbett’s chief negotiator of the privatization pursuit, Pete Tartline, called it the best opportunity the state has for addressing waiting lists for aging services.

Revenue Secretary Dan Meuser spoke of how it is a way to guarantee $3 billion to $4.5 billion more for senior citizen programs than the current state-run lottery would raise.
